Hi Everyone!
I am so excited to get to know each and every one of you throughout this year! Because I am new to Vandermolen, and new to all of you entering the 6th grade, I wanted to introduce myself and let you know a little about me.
I have been teaching for 4 1/2 years and am excited to start my 5th year at Vandermolen Elementary. I love my job and couldn't imagine doing anything else with my life. I started teaching 6th grade, and then helped to open Todd Elementary in South Corona where I taught 3rd grade for 4 years.
I currently live in Ontario, but my family, and adorable nephew, live in Huntington Beach where I was born and where the majority of my family currently lives. When I was a child my family moved to Colorado where I lived until I was in high school and then moved back to Huntington Beach.
I love art, especially drawing and painting, and am excited to study some of the art from ancient civilizations with you throughout this year. I love to read! A few of my favorite books are Island of the Blue Dolphins, Where the Red Fern Grows, and Mr. Popper's Penguins. I love going to the movies (look for me when you go, you might see me there.) Finally, I am incredibly scared of spiders!!
I am so excited to get to know you all this year!!! We will be using this blog constantly throughout the year so check it daily/weekly for updates! If you have any questions or concerns about anything please let me know as soon as possible!
